Tara A. Caan (born December 12, 1986) is an American actress. She is the daughter of Dee Jay Mathis and James Caan. Her mother is of African-American and Irish descent, while her father is of Italian descent. A year after Tara was born, her parents separated. Tara has a brother, Cameron, and a half-sister named Adria.

The film tells the story of a mother (Tara A. Caan) who must choose between her family and her career when she is hired to write a biopic about her estranged father (James Caan). Tara’s second film, “The Infiltrator”, which she directed, was released in 2016 and starred Bryan Cranston and Diane Kruger. The thriller tells the story of an undercover agent (Robert De Niro) who is tasked with infiltrating a Mexican drug cartel.

Tara’s first husband was actor/singer Danny Aiello. They divorced in 1995. Tara has also been linked to actors Matt Dillon and Val Kilmer.

In 1996, she married musician Michael Hutcherson and they have two children together.
