He sees that his family was murdered by a demon and his sister was converted into one herself.
They could see hope when they see that the sister was still showing signs of human emotion. Demons are humans who sold their souls to gain power or something material for themselves. There is an organization called Demon Slayer Corps who has been around for ages. They must hunt demons. They recruit the young boy and he begins the journey of slaying demons, which spans a total of 26 episodes.

Demon Slayer Season 2 Release Date
The first season was released on 26 April 2019. It was received very positively by the critics and the audience alike. After that, the demand for the second season went sky high. But, the studio came out with a different plan. A feature film named Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train. The movie picked off from where the series had left.
It was also very well received, especially the action sequences. But, it only increased the demand for season 2 of the show. On 25th October 2020, the production house put out an official statement saying that season 2 of the show was in production. Demon Slayer Season 2 Plot
It is safe to assume that the second season will kick off from where the movie had left off. It is because the movie itself was a continuation of the first season. Although no official plotline or hints are given, there are some things the fans are certain will feature in the next season.
We have seen Tanjiro’s journey of finding the cure for his sister’s condition. He will continue his journey on finding that cure.
