Good Omens is an enthralling fantasy, drama, and comedy mini-series which was an adaptation of a 1990 novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Amazon Studios and BBC Studios co-produced this six-episode series that served as a showrunner for Gaiman.
It’s truly a gorgeously directed drama that’d give us an experience of travel from heaven and hell. The scenes are entirely charming and witty. Not completely perfect because of some flaws but every hard work is paid off!
The story circulates about the adventure of a demon and an angel on Earth. Crowley is the demonically satisfying demon, while Aziraphale is the angelically servant of God representing heaven.
These two characters were hunting for a young antiChrist to kick-start Armageddon to end the wars of all wars between heaven and hell. But, the hunting turned into Crowley and Aziraphale wanting to live on Earth and save it from being destroyed caused by an Armageddon.
Imagine how the two opposite characters would agree to that idea – keeping Earth from fire and brimstones. And, that made Good Omens shine! It’s the fun friendship the two have portrayed in most of the scenes. What an unlikely alliance!
As if the two were born to fill in the roles. Michael Sheen (Aziraphale) and David Tennant (Crowley) seem to have that natural chemistry and camaraderie playing the angel and the demon.
The first season is an assortment of a magical adventure and a whole universe of good and bad with entertaining and witty scenes. It’s a handful of wittiness you never expected!
The fans were left desiring for more! Imagine the fun and stress-free watching experience! So, here you are and you deserve to know a lot more about the second season. Brace yourself!

Good Omens Season 2: Release Date
Everything in season 1 is thrilling! The events were undeniably good. But there has been lots of speculation about the second season. Prepare your emotions.
Neil Gaiman talked about the future of the series at SXSW – referred to as South by Southwest. He mentioned, “The lovely thing about Good Omens is it has a beginning, it has a middle, and it has an end.”
Gaiman added, “Season 1 of Good Omens is Good Omens. It’s brilliant. It finishes. You have six episodes and we’re done. We won’t try to build in all these things to try to let it continue indefinitely.”
In a report, Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett planned on making a sequel about Good Omens which they couldn’t finish yet. Although Good Omens was advancely known to be a mini-series, Gaiman really wanted to finish writing for the television universe.
Unfortunately, no announcements are made. Plus, the pandemic has hit the industry badly. A lot of alike movies series production were super delayed and rescheduled. It has been difficult for fantasy dramas like this to be taken to the next level.
If things would change and the pandemic would calm, surely, we will expect updates and for Season 2 to hopefully premiere in 2022.
Casts to Expect
If everything in the season 2 turns good, Michael Sheen and David Tennant could still be part of the mini-series. Michale as the angelic Aziraphale and David as the devellish Crowley.
Assuming these two talented performers would still be in the season, Good Omens will surely be part of the must-watch list of the fans. Remember that they already have made a good alliance in preventing the wolrd from the antiChrist’s Amageddon.
Other characters like Ned Dennehy as Hastur, Anna Maxwell Martin as Beelzebub, Doon Mackichan as Archangel Michael, Frances McDormand as the voice of God, and Jon Hamm as the Archangel Gabriel are still a good line-up for the season.
Plot to Expect
Despite the delay of production and launch, we can expect Good Omens Season 2 to be still streamed on Amazon Studios just as they did before. It will surely be a good avenue for the second season.
Let’s talk about the plot. Those were extraordinary performances in Good Omens Season 1 by the duo Crowley (David Tennant) and Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) as they worked hand in hand in taking charge of the Earth.
Traditional story-telling would be kind of boring these days. Gladly, the setting was more of a modern day apocalypse, a fantasy with a touch of comedy, which we could immensely enjoy. It has executed modernization well.
Both of the characters were abducted from Heaven and Hell towards the end. They were put to a trial for treason. That is when Aziraphale and Crowley were sentenced to deathly punishments.
Crowley is commanded what the demons fear – to bathe the holy water, while Aziraphlae was ordered what the angels should not be doing – to walk into the hellfire.
The masters in the movie wanted a battle between good and evil. The Armageddon could not be complete without an AntiChrist. They are so unhappy that it would be delayed.
It took them a little while to find out that Aziraphale and Crowley used a power from an acquired scrap of paper which they blew out of the book of Agnes Nutter’s prophecies. With that power, they traded faces and escaped without even being harmed.
Good Omens Season 1 ended with Aziraphale and Crowley having a toast and sharing meals. Since it portrayed more of a present plot, maybe we could expect the next season to be telling the origin of the angel and demon’s stories.
Neil Gaiman has been hopeful to finish writing about it. Let us hope it would be aired soonest so the hype won’t be forgotten. The fans are eyeing on Good Omen Season 2.
