Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo belongs to the Historical, Romance, Fantasy, Melodrama, and Time travel genres. It is based on a Chinese novel named Bu Bu Jing Xin, which has been written by Cho Yoon-young. It has been directed by Kim Kyu-tae and stars Lee Joon-gi, Lee Ji-eun, and Kang Ha-neul in important roles. The show was shot and made in South Korea and was originally made in Korean. It has 20 episodes and 2 special episodes.

Plot:

The story of the series – Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo kicks off as a total solar eclipse takes place on the Earth and during the eclipse, a 25-year-old woman from the 21st century named Go Ha-jin whose character in the series is played by the gorgeous Lee Ji-eun gets travels through time into the Goryeo Dynasty and by the time she wakes up, she finds herself in a foreign body that belongs to one of the princes of the royal family that ruled at the time – Have Soo in the year of 941. 

The emperor at the time was King Taejo, the head of the family. As she starts to adjust to her situations and new circumstances, she initially falls in love with the 8th Prince Wang Kook who is displayed as a very gentle, kind, and warm-hearted character and is played by Kang Ha-neul. 

As the story continues among the princes, the 4th Prince who tends to hide his face behind a mask is acknowledged with the derogatory label of “wolf dog”. The story continues as Hae Soo gets in trouble and gets unwillingly engaged as a crucial part of palace politics and gradually becomes a part of the fierce rivalry among the princes as their battle for the throne continues.
