Disjointed, an original Netflix show is an American television comedy series. The show is created by David Javerbaum and Chuck Lorre. Both David and Chuck are also executive producers.

The comedy series stars Kathy Bates, Elizabeth Alderfer, Aaron Moten, Tone Bell, Elizabeth Ho, Dougie Baldwin, Betsy Sodaro, and Chris Redd. The show is distributed by Warner Bros. Television Distribution. Disjointed was originally released on August 25, 2017.

Netflix has ordered a 20 episode season of the show. The first 10 episodes were released and hit the screen on August 25, 2017. The second half was released mid-year later and hit the screen on January 12, 2018. Fans are waiting for season 3, but the show hasn’t been renewed. Although Netflix canceled the show in February 2018, fans are still hoping for a season 3.

Disjointed Recap

The story of Disjointed revolves around Ruth Whitefeather Feldman who after years of advocating to legalize cannabis usage finds a new purpose in life. Ruth Feldman then started a medical marijuana dispensary located in Los Angeles. Ruth employed her son to assist her. In running her business, Ruth encountered hard times. Even if she encountered difficulties she got people backing her up such as her son, a security guard, and budtenders.

The show showed how Ruth struggled with problems with her business of cannabis. She even got in big trouble after she mistakenly sold cannabis to minors. Disjointed also shows some of the character’s difficulties in being a budtender and selling cannabis.

Disjointed Season 3 Plot

The show would probably follow the finale of last season. The season finale of season 2 was Pete’s brain is taken over by Biowave via Bluetooth. Travis Feldman is in a quest to replace Olivia. Jenny’s mother finds out that Jenny is a budtender which resulted in a conflict in the relationship between Jenny and Carter. Olivia is very disappointed with the marketing of Angelo DeStevens. Ruth is having a hard time grasping the revelation of Walter about Walter’s impending death.

And, also we would learn more about cannabis and its impact, and the difficulties faced by sellers and budtenders. Ruth will try to legalize cannabis in America, and hopefully, she’ll succeed.

Disjointed Season 3 Release Date

Fans of the show have been waiting for the renewal of the show as they hoped for season 3. It has been quite some time because season 2 premiered in 2018. The show’s production has been quiet about the renewal of the show and fans have been waiting for the announcement. 

Unfortunately for the fans, Netflix has canceled the show for another season. The network has ordered 20 episodes from the show and was split into two parts. However, Disjointed didn’t impress the critics and the audience. It failed to receive a high rating viewership which made Netflix cancel the show.

On the positive side, fans are still hoping for the renewal of the show which might change the decision of Netflix. Fans of the show have signed a petition for season 3 which was led by Kimberly Smith, who is a devoted fan. She stated that there are no positive shows about marijuana and hoped that Netflix will bring back the show. The number of people who signed the petition is nearly 21,998 and the number is still increasing and fans are campaigning for the renewal. Still, Netflix didn’t release an announcement about Disjointed season 3.

However, Disjointed has given a positive light on cannabis and the misconceptions surrounding marijuana such as activism, stoners, and the positive qualities of the cannabis plant. The show also talks about PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The reception of the show got mixed reviews from the audience. The comedy series failed to grab the attention of the viewers. According to Rotten Tomatoes, on their website, Disjointed got an approval rating of 22% which is based on 32 reviews. The show has an average rating of 4.0/10. While on Metacritic, Disjointed got an average score of 43 out of 100 which is based on 22 reviews from critics.

Jessica Lu’s role as Jenny was recast, and she was replaced by Elizabeth Ho.
