Renata Martínez Notni was born in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico, on 2 January 1995 to Liliana and Alfredo. As a child, Renata attended acting lessons at CEA Infatil run y Televisa in Mexico City.

She made her debut as an actress in the 2006 telenovela Código Postal when she was ten. Since joining the industry, Renata has had roles in eight telenovelas, including Mar de Amor and Amorcito Corazón. She participated in the Mexican television series La rosa de Guadalupe and Como dice el dicho.

In 2014, Renata briefly relocated to New York City to broaden her acting and attended Stella Adler Acting Studio for an acting course. In November of that year, she had her first role outside of Mexico when she traveled to Madrid to film Yo quisera, a youth-oriented film.

She was then cast as the lead of Amor de barrio in March 2015. The show aired on weekdays from June to November 2015. After Amor, Renata landed a role in the psychological thriller plays Las que no sienten, which premiered at Teatro en Corto in Mexico City in November 2015.

She was then cast as a lead youth role in the telenovela Sueno de Amor. In 2017, Renata was the main role in the series Mi adorable maldición (My Sweer Curse). In the show, she played Aurora, a girl who faced misfortune after misfortune, leading everyone to believe that she was cursed. She is set to appear in the series Zorro alongside actor Miguel Barnardeau.

Renata won the 2017 Premios TVyNovelas Lead Actress award for her role in Sueno de Amor. Her other works include La Fuerza del, Por Amar sin ley (2018), Vecinos (2019), and La Boda de la Abuela (2019).

Renata resides in Mexico City, where she is still pursuing her acting career. She is fluent in English. The 27-year-old star is currently in a relationship with Mexican actor Diego Boneta.
