They say, “Once into an anime, there’s never a way back!” If we were to talk about Kuromukuro, the fandom is evident from the number of fan clubs that have been raised in its name to release the third season for it. Kuromukuro is a mecha anime television series that has been made in Japan. It was produced by P.A. Works to celebrate its 15th anniversary. The story revolves around Yukina Shirahane who is a student at the Tateyama International High School and Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma, who is a Samurai.

Kuromukuro is the story of a school student named Yukina Shirahane and a Samurai named Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma. It belongs to the genre of Mecha anime and was helmed by Tensai Okamura. The television series has been written by Ryō Higaki. It premiered on April 7, 2016, and went off the air on September 29, 2016. It has been produced by Hirotaka Kaneko, Jun Fukuda, Kenji Horikawa, Mika Shimizu, Takayuki Nagatani, Takema Okamura, Toshiyasu Hayashi, and Yasushi Ōshima. Its background score was given by Hiroaki Tsutsumi and had 26 episodes combining both seasons. For those who wish to watch this series, Netflix has recently bought its streaming rights and therefore the series is available for its fans on Netflix.

Plot:

The story of the anime revolves around the sengoku era of japan. 450 years ago , a supernatural extraterrestrial force named “Efi Dorg” invades the earth and raises hell using their mecha robots. The people of Japan try to fight back with their mecha and robotic drones as onis. The famous Washiba Clan tastes defeat against their foes but the clan’s successor Yukihime alongside her Samurai retainer Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma turns the tables by using a stolen Efi Dorg Mecha which they dub as The Black Relic (黒骸, Kuromukuro). 

Yukihime with her comrades triumphs over the Efi Dorg but unfortunately during an enemy explosion, The Black Relic disappears.  60 years ago from today, The Black Relic was found during the construction of the Kurobe Dam. The Efi Dorg suddenly makes a return during the present while the United Nations Kurobe Laboratory is researching the Black Relic. 

Yukina Shirahane, the daughter of the United Nations Kurobe Laboratory Director accidentally releases Kennosuke from cryostasis by reactivating the cockpit module of the Black Relic. After seeking help from Yukina’s family and with his combat skills, Kennosuke once again starts slaying the Efi Dorg forces as he did more than 4 centuries ago. Yukina accidentally gets biometrically synchronized with the Black Relic as it needs a pilot and a navigator and accompanies Kennosuke as his combat partner.

The television series has had two of its seasons released till now. The first season had 13 episodes and the second season had 26 episodes. The first episode of the first season was named ‘A Rain of Ogres From the Sky’ and it aired on 7 Apr 2016. The second episode was released on 14 Apr 2016 and was named, ‘The Black Relic Awakened’. The third episode was named ‘The Castle Ruins Cannot Turn Back Time’ and it was released on 21 Apr 2016. The fourth episode was named ‘A Strange, New World’ and it was released on 28 Apr 2016. 

The fifth episode was named ‘The Man Who Came to the Garden of Learning’ and it was released on 5 May 2016. The sixth episode was named ‘Dancing on the Bank of the River Jinzu’ and it was released on 12 May 2016. The seventh episode was named The Daybreak Disappearance and it was released on 19 May 2016. The eighth episode was named Memories of Regret and it was released on 26 May 2016. 

The ninth episode was named The Demon Laughs in the Cavern and it was released on 2 Jun 2016. The tenth episode was released on 9 Jun 2016 and was named The Arrogant Captive. The eleventh episode was named The Truth Shrouded in Darkness and was released on 16 Jun 2016. The twelfth episode was named A Glimpse of Hell in the Kurobe Summer and was released on 23 Jun 2016. The thirteenth episode was named Beckoned by the Festival Music and was released on 30 Jun 2016. 

The second season had 14 episodes. Its episodes were named A Clash of Wills, Difficult Choices, You Don’t Know Me, Dance in the Clouds, Vapor Ever Rising, An Invitation from an Ogre, Into the Fire, Writing on the Wall, Tears of a Narcissus, A Tale of Two Frogs, Bloodshed at Kurobe, Dream of the Ogre and A Samurai Never Looks Back.

The release of the third season of the show might take some years but the fans are quite positive that it shall be released.
