The Heirs. One of the most-watched and tuned in by people who like Korean Dramas. Well, who doesn’t get hyped though?
The Heirs is a romantic drama that originated in South Korea. It is a movie about a high school that is mostly composed of students that are young and rich and would likely be the heirs to their own respective companies.
This masterpiece is written by Kim Eun-sook and was aired on the 9th of October 2013 until the 12th of December 2013.
The movie was co-produced by DramaFever and Hwa & Dam Pictures. With the right cast and perfect acting, the movie had gained a lot of popularity and a good response from its viewers, not just in its home country but all around Asia.
Now, with season 1 done, a lot of people have been making different speculations about season 2’s release date. Was it renewed? Was it canceled? Is there a new cast? Well, you better read more so you’ll know.
The Heirs cast:
Lee Min Ho is a great actor who has been in the entertainment business since 2003. He debuted in the movie Boys Over Flowers in which he played the role Gu Jun-Pyo with his co-star actress Ku Hye-sun (Geum Jan-di).
In the movie series, The Heirs, Lee Min Ho played the role of Kim Tan, who’s having the privilege to be the heir of Jeguk Group but also an illegitimate son.
However, his father enlisted Kim Tan as his father’s second child for the reason that he can be the legitimate successor to the family’s massive wealth.
Park Shin-Hye – as one of the greatest actresses that have been one of the hottest topics in Korean entertainment. Park Shin-Hye has been the crush of a lot of male viewers ever since she debuted in a music video Got (Flower) by Lee Seung-Hwan in the year 2003.
As usual, our star actress has played the role of Cha Eun-sang — a cynical yet practical girl from a modest family background.
She’s a hardworking girl who’s been supporting her mother by doing part-time jobs. Her mother works as a housekeeper at Kim Tan’s estate. She got admitted to the prestigious Jeguk High School on a welfare scholarship.
Kim Woo-bin – one of the rising stars in Korean dramas today. Kim Woo-bin perfectly played the role of a rich, bad boy, who is an heir to the Zeus Hotel Group. The character played by Kim Woo-bin, Choi Young-do was known to be Kim Tan’s previous best friend.
He was known for his bad attitude towards other students and most feared for his bullying habits. As despicable as he is, he attempted to irritate Kim Tan, by singling out Cha Eun-sang but then gradually realized he was starting to develop deep feelings for our main actress.
And let us not forget the other great supporting actors such as Jeon Soo-jin as Kang Ye-sol, Kang Min-hyuk as Yoon Chan-Young, Ha-neul who played the role as Lee Hyo-shin, Park Hyung-Sik playing the character of Jo Myung-soo, and there’s Krystal Jung as Lee Bo-na, Yang Seung-pil as Hyo-Joon, and Cho Yoon-woo who plays the character of Moon Joon-young, Choi Tae-hwan playing the character of Lee Sang-woo.
The Heirs Season 2 Release Date: When’s the premiere?
The season of The Heirs premiered in South Korea on the 9th of October 2013. With its 20 episodes, it concluded its finale on the 12th of December 2013. Due to its massive supporters and its growing popularity, it was released in 13 other countries.
However, for season 2, this is what we know. According to trusted sources, “The Heirs season 2” might actually happen with its previous stars still reprising their original roles.
Ever since season 1 had ended, the fans have filled any online platform with the request for a renewal. In fact, there is even a Facebook page full of fans dedicated to making a new season.
While season 2 is still foggy, Lee Min Ho has been in a hot section due to a hint that he’ll be returning to entertainment after his service in military enlistment is over. He even stated that he will be a part of a “mysterious big project”.
The speculation was that, when he finished his service in the year 2019, we will be having the season 2 in the year 2020, however, due to the pandemic, all normal jobs have been paused and been limited to work.
We might be having “The Heirs” season 2 by 2021, hopefully when the infections start to decrease and vanish.
However, these are all speculations and an official statement can still not be found from the producers.
For now, what we can do is just wait for the final and official statement and hope for good news. Why not rewatch the series and reminisce about the confrontation, and sweet romance and feel young again.
