Joe Budden was born on August 31, 1980, in Harlem, New York. His mother is Fay Southerland, who raised him in Jersey City, New Jersey. Joe stopped going to school and got hooked on drugs. In the summer of 1997, he went to a detoxification facility. He was seventeen years old.
